A software oscilloscope — a portable set of data collection and visualization tools that shows what your code is doing at runtime.
C++ · Python · Web UI
Summary
DebugVision lets you instrument code with lightweight sample points and inspect the result interactively: timing, latency, jitter and spikes, visualized the way an engineer probes a circuit with an oscilloscope.
Purpose
Logs and profilers often tell you that something is slow, but not when or in what pattern. DebugVision makes runtime behaviour visible: trigger on events at specific code locations, zoom in with high precision, and correlate what happens across loops and execution paths.
Key features
- Event-triggered sampling at chosen code locations
- Real-time visualization of timing, latency, jitter and spikes
- High-precision zooming and inspection
- Interactive graphs of runtime behaviour, loop timing and execution paths
- Language-agnostic design with extensible adapters
Technology
A high-performance C++ backend, a Python backend for quick prototyping, and a web-based front-end (in progress). Useful for game development, embedded systems, robotics, high-performance backends and teaching performance analysis.
